The park, declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, is located at the southern tip of Chilean Patagonia, about 2.900 km away from Chile´s capital city of Santiago, 340 km from Punta Arenas, and 116 Km from Puerto Natales. Ubicado en el sector de Alfalfal, en el cajón del Maipo; el Mirador de los Cóndores es un atractivo sendero de trekking que lleva a la zona superior de unos grandes farellones rocosos que se erigen en la intersección del cajón del estero Aucayes con el cajón de río Colorado. "The Great Chilean Earthquake"
Valdivia is a city and commune in southern Chile.
The world's largest earthquake with an instrumentally documented magnitude occurred on May 22, 1960, near Valdivia in southern Chile. The United States Geological Survey assigned it a magnitude of 9.5. It is called the "Great Chilean Earthquake" and the "1960 Valdivia Earthquake."
