Thank you for stopping on my website. For me, photography is a necessity rather than a job. I can not live without seeing the world through my lenses. It gives me the necessary perspective to be apart and look better, seeking the right moment to capture the light that may enlighten you.

Patagonia for me is an obsession. Why? I really don’t know but for sure every time I spend there I feel younger and my life felt better.

I studied photography in Santiago, Chile. Thanks to that, I have the opportunity to explore Patagonia and whole America taking pictures from different countries. You can track my steps and experiences on my Instagram also.

About me

Mauricio Escalona is a Chilean architect, entrepreneur, photographer, musician and writer based in Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres del Paine.

He leads Duomo Corp and founded Booking Patagonia, an integrated booking platform for the park and the region. He previously helped build early online ticketing in Chile.

His books: the memoir Memorias de una voz oculta. El arte de emprender (2025) and the novel El Silencio del Instinto (2026), the story of a man who leaves a successful life in Santiago for the southern road — and learns the difference between being there and being present.

Gracias por detenerse en mi sitio web. Para mí, la fotografía es una necesidad más que un trabajo. No puedo vivir sin ver el mundo a través de mis lentes. Me da la perspectiva necesaria para estar separado y verse mejor, buscando el momento adecuado para capturar la luz que puede iluminarte.

La patagonia para mí es una obsesión. ¿Por qué? Realmente no lo sé, pero seguro que cada vez que paso allí me siento más joven y mi vida se siente mejor.

Estudié fotografía en Santiago, Chile. Gracias a eso, he tenido la oportunidad de explorar y tomar fotos en la Patagonia y diferentes países de toda América. También pueden ver mi trabajo en Instagram.

Arquitecto, emprendedor, fotógrafo, músico y escritor.

Preside Duomo Corp y es fundador de Booking Patagonia, la plataforma de reservas con base en Puerto Natales especializada en Torres del Paine. Antes impulsó soluciones de ticketing digital en Chile (Feria Ticket, dTicket) y empresas de tecnología, construcción y turismo.

La Patagonia no es solo el lugar donde trabaja: es el eje de su mirada. Fotografía, filmaciones y música nacen de ese paisaje.
